Lily and Hailey

Hailey's Day @ the Spa, "Star Cottage Spa" that is ;)

Before. Cute, but messy and matted.

And after, much better!
She was being a little shy and I couldn't get her to look at the camera.
It costs so much money to keep up with Hailey's grooming, not to mention the hour drive to the groomer we like. We are currently trying to save money wherever we can, so I decided to take matters into my own hands quite literally. I've been wanting to do it for sometime, knowing that buying clippers would save me money in the long run, but I'd been putting it off, partly because the clippers are quite costly, and I was a little nervous about tackling this on my own. So I called my sister Karrie this week to ask her which clippers would be best. She said she had some I could have with all the blades and guards I need. Hallelujah, I don't need to buy any! I won't be able to pick them up until the next time I make it out to Maine. In the mean time I was getting antsy, cause Hailey's hair was getting Outta Control! So I worked up the nerve yesterday and just used scissors. No I'm not joking. It took me an hour. Ugh! Then I gave her a nice warm bath in our whirlpool tub with lavender and tea tree oil shampoo. She was all Refreshed and Happy. Kind of like how I feel when I finally get my hair done. I think it felt good to get all that hair off. It was weighing her down. The final result doesn't look professional by any means, but it works for now and it was free. Kevin was very proud of me when he got home, and Lily said she looks pretty. And that's all that really matters.

She Came Back!

Praise the Lord! And thank you for your prayers. I can finally go to sleep. We left the back door open and both the gates to the yard. And sure enough she wandered back in the house. Lily was still awake, but I had to wake Eden to tell her. The girls smothered her with love then it was back to bed. I checked Hailey over and she seems fine, she seems really happy too. I bet she was off partying with the other dogs in the neighborhood while I was up fretting over her. Naughty puppy ;) we love her so much. She'll be sleeping with us tonight as usual.

Lost Dog

Poor Hailey! A friend let her loose by accident. Not their fault really, she is afraid of Men, and she just bolted when he opened the back gate.
It's been quite a few hours :( We still can't find her. We have searched and searched and knocked on doors and called animal control.
If you think of it, please say a prayer for her tonight. We live near some pretty major roads and I am just sick over it. I am more worried about her getting hit by a car than anything else. She is a smart dog, and knows where home is.
The girls are pretty upset. I'll be waiting up for her. And if she doesn't come back, I'll be making flyers tomorrow morning.
This all happened on a day I thought couldn't get any worse.

Pretty Pillows

Now that I have a camera to play around with, I can start posting some of the things I have been working on. I made a new cushion for my window seat last summer. And last month I decided to sew up some extra pillows, to make it more inviting. It's a favorite spot in our house. Even Hailey our Goldendoodle likes to hang out there. She sits up there whenever we leave the house, and doesn't move till we get back. Poor puppy, but it's far to cold to leave her in the car while we run errands. Anyway back to the pillows, I made 3. Here they are. This one has starfish on it. Not sure if you can tell from the picture. This is the back of the starfish pillow. Haha I didn't measure quite right and really had to jam it in there. Oh well, it works. This fabric reminds me of an asian pottery print. My mom blessed me with lots of her old blue and white vases. I love hand Me Downs. So I had to throw this fabric into the mix. I'm very happy with how it turned out.

This is one of the built in shelves that makes up the window seat, Kevin and I built together. there is one on each side. And the lovely blue and white pottery my mom gave me. The teapot was a gift from my friend Shannon. She noticed my growing collection of blue and white and gave it to me, it was from her grandma in Hawaii. I am so blessed.I fell in love with this fabric. This is the front, and I put a striped fabric on the back.

And Hailey, enjoying the best spot in the house. :)

Hailey

Hailey is the sweetiest dog ever. A gift from God. She was totally meant for our family. She is amazing with The Girls. We are so blessed. And she is so darn cute :)
BTW I made her leash and collar. After all, a pretty puppy needs to be fashionable.

Dog Crate

I can't Keep the girls out of the dog crate. They are constantly climbing in with Hailey. Sometimes they goof around so much that Hailey whines and hides under my desk in my room. Poor Puppy. We will be taking the crate down soon as she was already house trained when we got her, but being that she was addopted and used to sleeping in a crate we wanted the transition to be as comfortable for her as possible. I can't wait to get rid of this thing, it takes up the whole living room.

Hailey

About three years ago, while I was Pregnant with Lily, Kevin and I were driving along, and spotted a big fluffy muppet like Dog walking with her owner. I told kevin to pull over so I could ask the woman what breed it was. Expecting it to be a Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier (another favorite of mine) without a haircut. To my surprise she said it was not, although she used to have one of those too, she said this is a Goldendoodle. We went home and Googled Doodles and Found OOdles and oodles of doodles all different sizes and shapes and colors, Labradoodles, shnoodles you get the idea. We fell in love with them. I am a Jim Henson fan after all. They remind me of Sprocket from Fraggle Rock. The other reason for loving them is that they are low to non-shedding and that is a big plus, being that I'm allergic to animals but would really love a dog. And I love golden retreivers for their temperment, and their beautiful coat. We searched and searched for a Goldendoodle breader in our area and found that they are quite expensive. So we put it off, and would look them up online every once in a while hoping something would come up. Well, this week we had the oportunity to adopt a Nine month old Goldendoodle that is absolutely gorgeous. And I don't have to deal with potty training a dog, while potty training Eden. SWEET! We pick her up on this thursday the 14th. Lily and Eden are so excited. So are we. We have her picture up on our laptop, trying to think of a name for her. So far I think her name will be Hailey. The choices were Riley, Hailey, Sophie, Chloe, & Zoe which were also some of our choices for our girls names. Lily picked Hailey though and there is no convincing her other wise. Here is a snapshot of "Hailey" our very own muppet. So much Fun!
